The Scion XB is definitely not the fastest car on the road. Nor is it the second, third, or fourth fastest car. Designed with a unique cube-like frame, the Scion is built for comfort, not speed. Kent Lee, owner of a 2005 Black Sand Pearl Scion XB takes this idea to a whole new level.

Rather than wasting time trying in vain to upgrade the 1.5 Liter L4 engine, Lee decided to leave it alone and focus all his attention to the interior.

To start, the Scion needed new seats. Because the car was originally manufactured in Japan, the back seats were sized differently. In Japan, seats on the right are 60 inches wide and seats on the left are 40 inches wide. In the U.S., the sizes are reversed. So Lee picked out new JDM seats and made the switch.

"If I ever get a new car, I'm taking these seats and putting them in the new one," said Lee. Other upgrades include JDM dome light, Garson curtains, and Garson headrests, all of which come from Japan. The entire car, Lee says, is essentially Japanese.

One final touch of comfort is the JDM drifter shift knob. It looks like a crystal tube that extends up to the dashboard, but he says,
"Most shift knobs are a little sticky to change, but with this one you can change with one finger."
