There are few aftermarket mods that can be considered the norm to most makes and models of cars and trucks, but rims and tires are usually right at the top of that category. More often it’s the first mod most enthusiasts will focus much of their attention when deciding which mod to start with. For most enthusiasts this particular mod is a no brainer since the styling and performance of the OEM setup leaves them wanting more. With so many different styles, sizes and performance levels of rims and tires available in the market, the most difficult decision really is what is important to you.
Over the years, aftermarket rims have become priority number one for most enthusiasts. No questioning that body kits, lights and paint will take your car or truck from boring to WOW. However, in my personal opinion, stuffing your fender wells with a show stopping, jaw dropping, neck breaking set of wheels puts the exclamation point on that WOW. The first decision you’ll need to make when you’re in the market for rims is design and finish. There’s many unique styles and patterns available that should make finding something that fits your preference that much easier. In addition, most wheel companies offer most rims in several color finishes as well high luster chrome and polished finishes.
Once you’ve decided on which rims fits YOU, you’ve got to pick some rubber to wrap around them. Several things need to be considered when selecting tires for your vehicle. The fact that the only part of the car or truck that touches the road is the tires, the decision on which tires to go with is a crucial one. The biggest mistake you can make is installing a less than average set tires on your new rims. Two areas of concern need to be addressed when selecting a set of tires is determining the tires characteristics to fit my needs and getting the correct size for the rim.
I have gone thru my fair share of vehicles over the years. The first mod that would usually get crossed of the mod list on the various vehicles I have owned would be rims and tires. For me that mod would comman d the attention of whoever was around my vehicle at that time also it’s usually the mod that expresses the most individuality.
